We also discussed definitions of different aspects of teaching, and what these words mean to us and society. An article by Paul H. Dunn, "What is a teacher?"
is an article (that I want to read further in the future) that discussed the many roles of a teacher. A role of a teacher is to facilitate students in their searching for knowledge. I want to be that instrument. But, at the same time, as a student, I need to take more initiative in my learning process. It's true what the scriptures say: "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened (Matt. 7:7-8)." Everyone is a teacher and everyone is a student.

What does it mean to teach?
Teaching is such an important role in society. It is one of the careers that are most rewarding and underpaid. but aside from that, teaching is my opportunity to make a difference in one's life. But how am I going to do that? One thing that we talked about in class is about our teaching philosophy. It is something important to think about, but I never realized. I want my students to understand what I am teaching. I am not trying to "wow" them with knowledge, but I want them to comprehend how the information given can be used for a wise purpose. Are there certain things that I should do as a teacher? Yes, and as I continue to learn what teaching means to me, my philosophy will become greater and more defined.

Great reflection - I really liked your comment regarding how everyone is a teacher and a learner.
